Tax Free Shopping
July 30, 2009
It’s back to school time, so local businesses are running all sorts of sales to entice frantic shoppers. One incentive the state is doing is making this weekend a Tax Free weekend. That means anything that is bought this weekend you don’t have to pay sales tax.
It seems our state does this once a year as I’m sure others do. When your state is having a tax free day, you are sure to hear about it from either the news or word of mouth. While you can save money shopping this day, there might be better sales some other time even when you figure in paying sales tax.
But still, for those shopping for back to school, a break on sales tax will surely help buy some other school supplies.

Wal-Mart is once again running a sale on Red Heart yarn. Now it’s just $2/skein compared to $2.28. While the savings might not be that great, it can add up especially if you have a major project like an afghan in your knitting/crochet future.
